Register for Free Caregiver Classes

Caring for a friend or loved one can be challenging work, especially when you don’t have all of the skills and support you need. Connecting Point is now offering free classes to help caregivers sharpen their skills and take better care of themselves in the process.

The slate of classes includes practical training in caregiving skills such as lifting and transferring, universal precautions, and dementia care as well as classes on self-care and stress reduction.

Classes start on February 7, beginning with a training on Safe Lifting & Transferring. Learn simple techniques to safely move someone into and out of a car, chair, bed, or bathtub without hurting them or yourself. This class is for caregivers of all skill levels. The Safe Lifting & Transferring class will be held from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Connecting Point office at 208 Sutton Way in Grass Valley.

All classes are free for the public. Call 211 to register (dial 2-1-1 or 877-847-0499).
